Bent metal arms curl at the top like a shepherd's crook. swell into a bell around the light. and draw back together at a small dish and ball below. so the frame reads as a sketch of a lantern rather than a box. Where a lantern would hold a flame. a cone of Spanish alabaster hangs point-down. its cream stone and amber veins glowing between the bars.
