Description
The Mavenhurst Alabaster Wall Sconce takes its shade from a bellflower turned upside down. A thin cap of Spanish alabaster is carved into a wide. wavy skirt with six soft folds around the hem. the way the early pressed-glass shades on farmhouse kitchen lights were shaped. and a brass dome closes the top. A straight brass arm carries it out from a round plate. with a small pin joint where the arm meets the shade cap. and a beaded pull chain ends in a brass ball. The stone is veined rather than cloudy. streaked with grey and rust lines that show clearly once the bulb is on. which is where the name comes from.
